Chef Wang's
1145 Northwest Broad St.
Murfreesboro, TN 37129

After 4 days of intense preparation and filming for our upcoming "Dork Anthem" music video, we headed out in search of nourishment and Chinese Donuts. Our odyssey brought us to Chef Wang's.

When we first walked in I was a little concerned with the amount of non-Asian employees. Is this kind of racist? Yes, but you know that if you had to choose chicken at a Chinese Buffet prepared by either General Tso or Colonel Sanders, we all know who you'd choose. The decor was very nice. They had main eating areas blocked off into certain sections and also a separated bar area with televisions, which I assume are for sporting events or "Small Wonder" reruns (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088610/)

The food was very good. They had an expansive selection of Sushi which Jon, our director, and Brian partook of. They were both pleased. I tried the Chicken Feet which I never had before. There's literally not much to describe since the edible part of a chicken's foot is very small. I was very impressed with a certain fruit in the selection, but no one could tell me what it was. Our table didn't know, Jared the waiter didn't know, and the weirded out teenage girl I asked at the buffet didn't know. Finally, before we left, Jared informed me that it was Papaya. I highly recommend the Papaya at Chef Wang's.

Checking in for the snow

I write to you as the snow continues to fall here in Philadelphia. As I watch my dog literally disappear into the back yard, I am reminded of one of the reasons I am glad that I don't live in Central NY anymore. . .The Buffalo Bills and snow.

Dave and Brian have a little bit of a lull in shows for the next few weeks because of the holidays, and also Brian and his wife will be having their first child. During this time we will be working on some new stuff that will be sure to make the children join hands and sing in jubilation.

I wanted to clarify something new with the blog as well. I was told to shorten the blogs and make them more frequent. I won't tell you who told me this, but let's just say that her name almost rhymes with Teddy Ruxpin. Because of this, the Chinese Buffet reviews will be done on their own separate posts every Wednesday.

We are starting to book up our winter and spring, so if you want to book Dave and Brian for any event that you may be having contact Kelsey Bufkin at kelsey@daveandbrian.com. Hmm, Kelsey Bufkin almost rhymes with. . .

That's a Wrap

Well, the 1st Dave and Brian Music Video has been shot! We wrapped up yesterday morning after filming a short scene outside. This video is the real deal, and some might be surprised at the quality of this thing. We'd like to thank Focal Point Cinematic (www.focalpointcinematic.com) run by Jon and Kelsey Bufkin, for all of their hard work. This shoot involved 3 cameras, professional lighting, 5 crew, a band, and about 23 extras. We are looking at debuting it some time early next year. Get ready!

Scoot or Die

So we began filming today. We donned our "Dork" apparel and hopped on some motorized scooters. Unfortunately, Brian hopped a little too fast and crashed into a bush. I didn't get to see it, but from what I hear it was pretty intense. Don't worry, Brian is ok, but more importantly though, the $700 cheap Chinese scooter is ok.

We filmed some great scenes today. Some involved our new friend Colt, portraying a short short wearing, speed-walking, dork. There were some great road shots of Brian and I rocking the scooter down the mean streets of Murfreesboro, which is apparently not pronounced phonetically. Here are some pics:

Video Production Updates

First off, let me apologize for the lack of Chinese Buffet reviews in the next few posts. The purpose of these posts is to keep you updated on our pre-production for "The Dork Anthem" video. We didn't want to taint the seriousness of a Chinese Buffet review with something as trivial as our video shoot.

Jon Bufkin and Kelsey Bufkin of FocalPoint Cinematic are producing this video and the concept is a house party for Dorks. It's going to be epic and perhaps life changing. Shooting starts tomorrow and we'll keep you updated.

We did some thrift store shopping to find some costumes for our extras to
wear in this glorious video. Brian was so moved by our selections that he decided to model for everyone to see.
